How to help

Here are a few ways that you can help Cornwall’s badgers…

Get Involved

Cornwall Badger Group is run entirely by dedicated volunteers who generously contribute their time, skills, knowledge and resources to help protect badgers and promote their conservation across Cornwall.

We welcome anyone who would like to get involved and support our work. Whether you can offer a few hours of your time, specialist expertise, practical help in the field, help at fundraising events or support behind the scenes, every contribution makes a difference and helps us achieve our aims.

Our members come from a wide range of backgrounds, ages and experience levels, bringing a diverse mix of skills and perspectives to the group. We value every volunteer and are committed to creating a friendly, supportive environment where people can learn new skills, build confidence and deepen their understanding of wildlife conservation.

Whether you’re an experienced naturalist or simply passionate about helping badgers, there’s a place for you at Cornwall Badger Group.

Join the Cornwall Badger Group and learn more about badgers and what you can do to help from our group meetings and training.

Donate

As a voluntary organisation, we also rely on donations to continue our work. Your support helps us purchase monitoring equipment, educational materials, survey supplies and resources needed to respond to badger welfare concerns and deliver conservation projects. Every donation, no matter the size, directly contributes to protecting Cornwall’s badgers and inspiring the next generation of wildlife champions.

Keep a lookout!

Call the police immediately on 999 (emergencies) or 101 (non-emergencies) and the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999 if you see something suspicious near a badger sett. Please contact us too. Remember, badgers are protected by the law.

Please report any sick, injured, orphaned or dead badgers to us using our free 24-hour helpline on 07710 971988. This line is manned by a volunteer 24 hours a day, all year round. For injured or sick badgers, please call any time. However, if your call is of an urgent nature and is diverted to voicemail, please call the RSPCA 24-hour hotline on 0300 1234 999

For non-urgent matters, please call in daytime hours. If the volunteer is unable to respond to your call immediately, please leave a message on the voicemail and your call will be returned as soon as possible
